Dr. Duncan was born in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and moved to Scottsdale as a child. She attended the University of Arizona for her undergraduate education, and then continued there for medical school. She went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, and then practiced outpatient internal medicine for a few years. During that time, she became board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and then completed a coveted one year fellowship in Obesity and Metabolism at the University of Texas in Houston.
